Hi John, Tim,
If that can help, a software that allows quick and cheap creation of videos is Content Samurai – we don’t use it to create our animated videos, but for SEO/quick videos that’s a great tool.

Hey Tim – Thanks – you are 100% correct – I’ve seen the impact of video for local SEO as well – in fact Google seems to want to show video on page 1 – I touch on this very subtly in the discussion of local content but it’s certainly a topic worthy of more exploration. Would you like to write a guest post for us on that topic specifically with some examples?

Hi John thx for the post and I am a long-time follower . . . One thing I noticed in your post, plus all of the ones I read about local online marketing essentials such as getting set up properly in G My Business and in local citation directories, is that there is essentially no discussion about video content for local businesses. I have been pursuing a strategy of making simple low-cost videos each month for local business clients and it works extremely well. I post them to the client's website, social media pages and even use the exact same video in Facebook Promoted Post ads, which generate incredible clickthrough rates for peanuts! These simple videos blow away text posts in terms of engagement with smartphone users in particular. I know who all the 'gurus' are in the local online marketing arena. Not one of them seems to get that video content consistently created and posted is the most powerful tactic there is for local businesses, in my humble opinion! Thx a lot Tim
