UPDATE: I started writing down everything I did for each project/client and eventually was able to create standard checklists and processes for at least the on boarding portion for marketing clients. I’ve also been delegating much more efficiently after some trial and error. Things are looking up =) I saw this post in my backlink report from AHREFs so it reminded me of how far anyone could get in just 9 months.

It is true, when we start we want to do all things ourselves. Most times we don’t delegate is because of trust. We don’t trust the person to do the task like us. The reality is that we should expect them to do the task better than us. I have to admit I still struggle with this from time to time. but if I focus on the tasks you have mentioned that an entrepreneur should own maybe I will be able to do things that have a larger impact.

I have also just come across a quote from Gary Vaynerchuck that is very apt “Delegation isn’t about weakness it is about ego.”

Thank you John a Great Read.

A quick 10-15mins. talk everyday with my VA also made it possible to polish his work.

Knowing what industry you are in might help.

Not sure typical exists in business, but it starts with thinking about it and then making some checklists – things probably aren’t as different as you imagine.

I am really trying to focus on more delegation and I know once I cross this hurdle I will be good to go! As of now I only outsource tasks I either hate doing or cannot do. I need to delegate tasks that I can do that are not critical so I Can focus on the business itself. Creating processes seems to be the key but every project seems to be different, requiring different processes. I need this to be standardized. What is the typical timeframe for someone to achieve internal processes and be able to delegate almost everything?
